Bus 17 takes own & Bus 28 except W177. Bus 2203 takes own & Bus 28’s W177 & Bus 23’s North of school. Bus 2221 takes own & Bus 23’s South of school. GMES: Bus 28 takes Bus 110 North of school & keeps own South of school. Bus 17 takes own & Bus 28’s North of school. Bus 2221 takes Bus 23 & keeps her own & takes Bus 110’s South of school.

GMMS is looking forward to a safe return of students after the Mardi Gras break. Please note that our catalog fundraiser was extended to Tuesday. All order forms and moneys should be turned in Tuesday.

GMMS will have track tryouts today. GMMS also has 2 buses out, bus 2203 and Bus 28. Students will be divided up onto other buses. Please expect delays.
Bus 2203 out the plan is the following: Bus 110 takes 2203 and Bus 53 takes 110. For Bus 28 the following plan will be used: Bus 23 takes own & Bus 28’s W165-W177; Bus 17 takes own & Bus 28’s W149-W163.

Please be patient as your child's safety is our highest priority.

Due to several buses being out in the south Lafourche area, GMMS is strongly requesting parent consider parent pick up on Friday. Routes for Bus 2203 and 23 will be most affected tomorrow for GMMS. Times will be altered to bring students home safely.

Mark your calendar for Spring Pictures on February 10th. We will also do club pictures that day for the yearbook. Students who purchase spring pictures can wear a spring type shirt with regular uniform bottoms or jeans. Only students purchasing Spring Pictures will take the Spring Picture. Students for clubs should speak to their sponsor on whether to wear a club shirt or regular uniform shirt for the yearbook picture. Students may also purchase the club picture.

Here is the week in preview. Please note the dress for the week. GMMS will have an inside take in and brain break tomorrow and will assess the temperature for the days after. Your child's health and safety is our highest concern.

OPERATIONS UPDATE: School and district leaders have conducted assessments of our campuses, and all facilities are safe and ready for students and staff to return. Therefore, all Lafourche Parish public schools and offices will resume normal operations tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. We look forward to welcoming back all of our students tomorrow.

The Lafourche Parish School District is closely monitoring the weather forecast for early next week. As the forecast continues to evolve, we are actively working with local authorities to assess the situation and determine if any changes to school operations are necessary. We understand the importance of keeping you informed and prepared, and we want to assure you that the safety of our students and staff and their families is our top priority.

As of now, we do not anticipate any changes to school-related activities scheduled for the weekend. A decision regarding Monday will be made no later than 5 p.m. Saturday. Once a decision is made, we will inform our families through employee email, website updates, Facebook and OnCourse Connect, and direct notifications will be sent through SchoolStatus texts, emails, and phone calls. Please continue to monitor these outlets for official updates. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these potential weather challenges together.

At Lunch time our school had to briefly place students in an instructional hold due to a medical emergency involving a student. An ambulance was called, the family of the individual involved was notified, and all students were safe and secure in their classrooms. In an instructional hold, students and staff remain in their current classrooms, but normal instruction and activities continue.
We appreciate the quick response of our staff and emergency personnel, as well as the understanding and support of our school community. Thank you for your continued trust in us to keep your children safe.
